Case Study

Larkin Indoor Stadium, Johor Bahru

Fabric ducting as an ideal solution for sports halls. Situated in Larkin, Johor, the new indoor stadium houses 7,000 spectators and accommodates many types of indoor sports, such as badminton, takraw, basketball, etc. This stadium is required to comply with Badminton World Federation (BWF) regulations that specify an air velocity of less than 0.3m/s at a height of 10 m above the court.

We conducted several CFD simulations to find a correct air distribution pattern. The results indicated directed micro-perforations at 45° and 315° as the ideal distribution method for this facility. Prihoda fabric ducting was then manufactured, delivered and installed. A technical delegation from BWF Malaysia has already certified that the stadium complies with all their standards.
